Filter, KPI and Html on Boards with Release 2.0.1

Following the introduction of Boards and the API to create custom Board Elements in release 2.0, we have been busy extending the default catalog of Elements you can use.

With release 2.0.1, in addition to Table and Image Elements you can now use the Filter, KPI and Html renderer Elements.

The Filter Element acts pretty much like a column header filter, allowing you to pick values from the list of available values. It distinguish values that are already filtered in gray in a secondary list. It will also automatically update its text to reflect the selection, including when filtering comes from other sources. This is pretty handy when you want to screen shot your report to know what is showing.

Next comes the KPI Element which allows you to display your key indicators by aggregating the filtered data from a given column. You get access to all the aggregation methods already available for the Pivot, and some optional formatting similar to what a Layout let you do already.

Finally we added the Html Element which allows you to diplay static html as a header or a ‘decorating’ panel, but also display text and html from a selected column or to view it as a document (image, pdf, etc.), from your local files or online. It comes with navigation buttons when you have more than one attachment selected.

Adding Board Elements was not the only things we did to this version. Thanks to your feedback we have also targetted areas for improvement in speed and memory consumption, leading to quite substancial performance gains, especially with large datasets. We have also fixed a few bugs, and as always, introduced new ones.

Have a look at everything we added, and if you want some of it, download the latest version, have a play and let us know!
