We have been adding hips of features lately but not spending much time putting the word out on the blog. So while we are rocking version 1.28.2 our last post is from 1.25 (that’s 8 versions behind in case you are not yet fluent in wacky software versioning)!
A timely reminder that you should turn on Auto Update so you don’t have to wait for posts to tell you about new stuff.
Here are a few reasons why you should update if you haven’t already. Compared to 1.25, in the latest version you’ll find:
- A dedicated file extension that allows you to open files by double clicking them, making sharing configuration even easier. Ok it is not that well known yet.
- The filter banner, at the bottom of the grid, that makes it easy to see what filters are active and to turn off targeted ones:
- Cross View Transfer, to transfer data between views directly. pushing data between Excel, SQL & text files has never been easier
- 3 new ways to match data to Navisworks model, using Set names, Timeliner field names and Viewpoints
- A new trigger mode that automatically isolates selection in 3D (hides non selected objects) upon grid selection
- 2 new data sources for MySQL and PostgreSQL, read only for now, but that still gives you all the searching, filtering and one way transferring power
- Support for image data type on selected data sources, including editing
- Many updates on Pivot performance, appearance and functionality
- Performance update and Rollback system on data transfers (we are cooking some import preview that we are pretty excited about)
We’ve also made a whole lot of smaller updates, all targeted at improved user experience and better performances, and all while maintaining full retro-compatibility.
Meanwhile you might be there wondering why you thought BimSens was just a Navisworks plugin.
