Triggers
What are the Triggers?
Triggers are actions that are executed whenever the selection changes in 3D or in BimSens's Grid. They can be activated to highlight or reframe on 3D objects when selecting rows in the Grid or to filter the grid to show only related rows when selecting objects in 3D.
They can be individually toggled on and off either via the Options dialogue or by checking the corresponding buttons at the bottom right of BimSens's Grid.
Triggers can only work once ID Match rules are defined.
3D Trigger
When the 3D Trigger is active, 3D selection triggers grid filtering respecting the ID Match rules.
If the Properties used for the ID Match are at different level in the objects tree, you will need to activate the Inheritance for the 3D Trigger to work properly.

The rows shown on the grid are those respecting the Search criteria, all Columns Filters and the 3D Trigger filters. Click the Reset Filters button to reset all filters. |
With very large number of selected objects and/or very complex ID Match, the filtering of the grid might lead to an error. You will get a warning message informing you that the filtering has not been performed. You can deactivate that message in the Options.
Grid Trigger
When the Grid Trigger is active, grid selection triggers 3D selection respecting the ID Match rules.
Reframe Trigger
When the Reframe Trigger is active, grid selection triggers a reframing in 3D to zoom on the selected objects. The Reframe Trigger requires the Grid Trigger to be active.
From the Options dialogue, you can define the Autofit Ratio and Reframe Mode of reframe trigger.
- The Autofit Ratio defines the dimensions of the reframed objects compared to the overall screen dimensions once reframed. A ratio of 1 will zoom on the object for it to fit exactly within the screen boundaries, a smaller ratio will look at the object from further away to provide more context..
NOTE |
|
The reframing is calculated on the bounding box of the object, not the object itself. Objects with complex shapes can therefore look like they are reframed with |
- The Reframe Mode defines the position from which the object is looked at once reframed:
- Elevation will choose the projection plane that shows most of the object between planes XZ and YZ
- Plan will look at the object in plan view from above
- BestFit will use the mode that shows the most of the object between Elevation and Plan modes. For instance it will show a slab in Plan mode but a door in Elevation mode.
- FrontTopRight will show the object from the Front Top Right corner of its bounding box
Isolate Trigger
when the Isolate Trigger is active, grid selection triggers the isolation of the 3D selection, showing all selected objects and hiding all non-selected objects
