When do I need to authenticate?

The very first time you activate a DataView you will have to provide your login and password details if the parent DataSource requires authentication.

Every time you provide login and password details to connect to a DataSource, BimSens will save this credentials for later reuse.

Is it Safe?

The credentials are saved encrypted, per user and per application (viewers), i.e.:

By default, credentials are encrypted and saved independently from BimSens configuration files. They cannot be shared.

However, third party DataSource provider can choose to save your details in plain text as part of the configuration files. In doubt, check the xml file.
